I have a vivid memory of the last day of school in 1st grade. When the bell finally rang for the last time that school year, we all raced out of the room, outside the doors, and through the field to our parents waiting in the carpool lane. Summer had finally arrived!
Now, I am on the other side of that last day. I sit waiting for my little girl to stand with her teacher, go through all of the sign-out protocols, and skip over to my car. Summer is here, whether we’re ready or not. Sending my little girl to school meant I had several hours in the day that someone else was teaching her, watching her, and playing with her. And now what!?
My wife recently went on a trip by herself, and she left me a list of ideas and activities that she knew the two of us would enjoy. I flew through that list. I’m nothing if not efficient! But what was left was a lot of really good conversations, lots of silliness and laughing, and, at times, me trying to figure out what to do next.
I pray for a lot of grace—and I have a feeling I’m not alone. I bet there are some of you out there, like me, that need a plan. Knowing that this next season is quickly approaching, the team at Bible Studies for Life has put together a few activities to help make summer 2021 an intentional, God-focused summer! We’ve included activity pages, craft ideas, and bucket lists of ideas to keep your kids no only entertained, but also growing in their knowledge of Jesus.
We’re all in this together! Post your favorite activity you’ve done with your kids over the summer on our Facebook or Twitter to help make this summer fun for kids and easier on parents!
