1s & 2s— Make a Felt Collage
Bible Story: Esther Helped Her People Esther 2:2-18; 3:8-13; 4–5; 7–8
Life Point: People can choose to do what is right, even when it is hard.
Weekly Verse: God helps me. I will not be afraid. Hebrews 13:6
Materials: Teaching Picture 3, felt cut into clothing shapes, clear contact plastic, tape, basket
- Tape a long piece of clear contact plastic onto the wall at children’s eye level. Put the felt shapes in a basket and place it under the plastic. Prop the teaching picture nearby.
- Invite 1s and 2s to arrange the felt shapes on the contact plastic. Talk about the Bible story as children work.
- Tell preschoolers they can take the shapes off to rearrange them. Comment that Esther put on special clothes when she went to see the king; she chose to do what was right, even though it was hard.
3–Pre-K— Set the Table

Materials: toy dishes, placemats, napkins
- Invite the boys and girls to set the table for a special dinner.
- Comment that Esther invited the king to a special dinner. Continue to tell the Bible story as they play. Say that Esther did something that was hard to do, but she chose to do the right thing.
- Say the Weekly Verse together.
Kindergarten— Make a Bible Verse Reminder
Bible Story: Esther Helped Her People Esther 2:2-18; 3:8-13; 4–5; 7–8

Materials: heavyweight paper, markers, labels printed with the Weekly Verse, colorful stickers
- Cut the paper into door hanger shapes. Arrange the materials on a table.
- Invite the kindergartners to make a Bible Verse reminder. Give each one a door hanger shape and a verse label. Read the verse and talk about the Bible story. Comment that Esther made a hard choice to do what was right.
- As children decorate their reminders with the stickers, talk about some hard choices the children have made. Say the Weekly Verse together, reminding them that God always helps them.
