Use these statements to connect each session of Bible Studies for Life: Kids to Christ as you teach your children each week.
U1S1: Josiah Heard God’s Words
The Bible is powerful. When Josiah read the Bible, the people chose to do what it said. Today, we can learn about Jesus from the Bible. He helps us say no to doing wrong and He died to rescue us from sin.
U1S2: God Told Jeremiah What to Write
God chose Jeremiah before he was born to tell people what God said. God had also planned all along for His Son, Jesus, to show God’s love for people by dying on the cross. Jesus rescues people from sin.
U1S3: The People Heard Ezra Read the Scroll
Ezra read from the Scripture to the people. The Bible helps us know the right things to do. We do wrong things a lot, but when we know and love Jesus, He helps us say no to sin. Jesus died to rescue us from sin.
U1S4: Paul Wrote to Timothy
Paul wrote a letter to Timothy to remind him of the important work he had in leading the church. Paul reminded Timothy that the most important work of the church is telling people about Jesus and helping them to trust in Jesus as their Lord and Savior.
U2S1: Solomon and the People Worshiped
Ordinary people had no direct access to the holy presence of God. Jesus changed all that. By His death on the cross, Jesus took away our sin. We can approach God intimately and individually when we trust Jesus as Lord and Savior.
U2S2: Joash and the People Gave
Joash and the Israelite people showed love to God by giving offerings. Love is more than feelings or words—it is an action. Jesus showed God’s love for us when He died on the cross to rescue people from sin.
U2S3: Bereans Studied the Scriptures
God’s Word is powerful. When the Bereans searched the Scriptures, they eagerly changed their ways to follow Jesus. The Bible says that Jesus is “the Word.” Jesus is God who came to live with people on earth. Jesus has the power to change our hearts.
U2S4: People Prayed for Peter
God answered the people’s prayers for Peter. God had a plan for Peter and the church, and He rescued Peter from his enemies. Peter knew he would face death because he believed in Jesus, but he kept going so he could share the good news of the gospel.
U2S5: The Church Sent Missionaries
Paul and Barnabas faced many people who rejected the good news about Jesus. But God had a plan for Paul to share the gospel with Gentiles, no matter what troubles Paul faced. Many believed in Jesus. The church grew, and the gospel was shared so that people all over the world could be saved from their sin by trusting in Jesus as Lord and Savior.
U3S1: Jesus Taught About God’s Care
While Jesus was on earth, He taught people. People learned from Jesus then, and people can still learn from Jesus today by reading and studying the Bible. Today, we read the Bible and learn from it to know about Jesus, God’s Son.
U3S2: Jesus Healed a Woman
Jesus healed a woman from her earthly sickness, but He does even more than that. Jesus heals all people who believe in Him from sins. He paid what we owe God. When we trust in Jesus, God forgives our sin—all of it!
U3S3: Jesus Visited Mary and Martha
Jesus loved and helped His friends and taught them to love and help one another. Jesus loved and helped us by doing for us what we could never do. Jesus is our King who died on the cross to rescue us from our sin.
U3S4: Jesus Calmed a Storm
Jesus did miracles to help people believe that He is the Son of God. Jesus has power over everything, and anyone who believes in Him will live with Him forever.
