Use these statements to connect each session of Bible Studies for Life: Kids to Christ as you teach your children each week.
U1S1: Jesus Helped the Fishermen
When Jesus first called the disciples, He promised to make them fishers of men. Instead of catching fish, they would tell people about Jesus. (Luke 5:1-11) Jesus is the Lord who forgives us and makes things right again.
U1S2: Jesus Told a Story About a Kind Man
Jesus told stories about people who were looking for things that were lost. Jesus told these stories to teach about Himself. Jesus looks for people who are lost, people who do not know Him. Jesus gave His life to save people from sin.
U1S3: Jesus Healed a Blind Man
Sin keeps us from seeing what is true about God. Jesus came as light into a dark world. He helps us see what is true so we can know God. Those who trust in Jesus are freed from sin and worship Jesus as Lord.
U1S4: Jesus Rode Into Jerusalem
During Jesus’ triumphal entry, the people welcomed Him as King. Jesus was the Messiah spoken about by the prophet Zechariah: “Look, your King is coming to you; He is righteous and victorious, humble and riding on a donkey, on a colt, the foal of a donkey” (Zechariah 9:9). One day, Jesus will return to earth on a white horse as King over everything. (Revelation 19:11)
U1S5: Jesus and Zacchaeus (Babies)
Jesus came to look for and rescue people who sin. He came to rescue people like you and me. Jesus died on the cross and rose again. He is happy when we are sorry for our sin, and He wants us to trust in Him.
Jesus Is Alive (1s–K)
The crucifixion and resurrection of Jesus is the center of the gospel. We deserve to die because of our sin, but Jesus died in our place. He was the blood sacrifice made once and for all for the forgiveness of sin. God was pleased with Jesus’ sacrifice and raised Jesus from the dead to reign as King over all creation. We are forgiven only through Jesus. (Acts 4:12)
U2S1: The First Church
God kept His promise to send the Holy Spirit. With the Holy Spirit’s help, Jesus’ disciples could begin their work to share the gospel with the entire world. God gives the Holy Spirit to those who trust in Jesus as Lord and Savior. The Holy Spirit gives us power to do God’s work, and He changes us to be more like Jesus.
U2S2: The Church Told About Jesus
After Jesus returned to heaven, the Holy Spirit gave the disciples power to keep working. Peter healed a man who was lame with the power of Jesus’ name. God changed the hearts of believers, and they shared what they had so no one was needy. God gives the Holy Spirit to believers today so the church can tell others about Jesus and show them His love.
U2S3: The Church Chose Helpers
Jesus’ friends believed that everyone in the church had an important job to do to serve God’s people and help spread the gospel. Jesus wants us to serve others so that people all over the world can hear and believe the news of His death and resurrection.
U2S4: The Antioch Church Helped
When Jesus lived on earth, He was a walking example of how we should love and serve other people: at all times and despite any barriers the world puts up. God called the Church to love and serve one another. When the Antioch Church helped, they were worshiping God through their love for the Church.
U3S1: God Made the Land and Plants
The Bible says that Jesus is Lord over all of creation. Everything was created by Him and for Him. Jesus has always existed, even at the creation of the Universe, and He holds everything together. (Colossians 1:16-17)
U3S2: God Made the Sun and Moon
The Bible says that Jesus is Lord over all of creation. Everything was created by Him and for Him. Jesus has always existed, even at the creation of the Universe, and He holds everything together. (Colossians 1:16-17)
U3S3: God Made Animals
The Bible says that Jesus is Lord over all of creation. Everything was created by Him and for Him. Jesus has always existed, even at the creation of the Universe, and He holds everything together. (Colossians 1:16-17)
U3S4: God Made People (B–Pre-K)
God created people in His own image. Adam was like God in some ways, but he was not exactly like God. God sent His Son, Jesus, to show us exactly what God is like. (Colossians 1:15) Jesus is exactly like God because He is God. (Hebrews 1:3)
Adam and Eve’s Choice (K)
After Adam and Eve, everybody has sinned. Sin keeps us from God, but it won’t keep God from us. He loves us anyway, and He promised that someone from Eve’s family would take away sin. God sent His Son, Jesus, to rescue people from sin and bring them back to God.
