Bible Story: Jeremiah Wrote God’s Words Jeremiah 36
Life Point: People wrote God’s words in the Bible.
Weekly Verse: All that the Bible says is from God. 2 Timothy 3:16
Materials: Teaching Picture 10, poster board, marker, three or four Bibles of different sizes
- Lay the Bibles on the poster board and trace around each one with the marker. Place the Bibles and Teaching Picture on the floor next to the poster.
- Invite a preschooler to match each Bible to its outline. Comment that Jeremiah wrote some of the words that are in the Bible.
- Point to Jeremiah in the Teaching Picture.
3–Pre-K— Make a Door Knob Reminder

Materials: Teaching Picture 10; door knob hangers: adhesive labels printed with the Weekly Verse; markers; colorful circle, star, and hear stickers
- Place the materials on a table. Give each child a door knob hanger and verse sticker. Explain that they can hang these reminders on their bedroom door knobs to remind them that people wrote God’s words in the Bible.
- Tell the Bible story as children decorate their hangers. Comment that words that Jeremiah wrote are in our Bible today.
- Point to Jeremiah in the Teaching Picture. Discuss how writing today is different from writing in Jeremiah’s day.
Kindergarten— Play in a Writing Center

Materials: Teaching Picture 10; old briefcase or box; variety of paper such as copy paper, legal pads, and notepads; variety of writing implements, such as markers, gel pens, and colored pencils
- Place the paper in the briefcase or box. Place the writing implements on a table within children’s reach. Display the Teaching Picture. Print the Weekly Verse on a sheet of paper.
- Invite boys and girls to create in the center. Suggest they copy the verse and decorate it. Some children may want to draw only.
- Talk about the Bible story. Comment that Jeremiah wrote some of the words in our Bible.
- Call attention to the Teaching Picture. Ask the children to tell how writing today is different from writing in Jeremiah’s time.
