Bible Story: Peter Preached to Cornelius Acts 10
Life Point: People travel to other places to tell about Jesus.
Weekly Verse: Go everywhere and teach people about Jesus. Matthew 28:19-20
Materials: Teaching Picture 11; toy truck, car, wagon; shallow pan; paper towels; washable paint; painting smocks; paper; marker or pencil
- Fold a wet paper towel and lay it inside the shallow pan. Pour paint over the towel to make a stamping surface.
- Help a child put on a smock before painting. Print a child’s name on a paper. Show how to roll a vehicle over the paint and then onto a paper.
- Talk about the Bible story as preschoolers paint. Point to the picture. Mention that Peter traveled to Cornelius’ house to tell him about Jesus.
3–Pre-K— Draw on Maps

Life Point: People travel to other places to tell about Jesus.
Weekly Verse: Go everywhere and teach people about Jesus. Matthew 28:19-20
Materials: Teaching Picture 11, old maps cut into 8-by-10-inch pieces, markers, highlighting markers
- Display the Teaching Picture with the maps and markers.
- Give each child a map piece and invite him to draw with the markers. Explain that maps show different roads people can travel on to get to another place. Talk about places the children might have traveled.
- Tell the Bible story as children continue to draw. Explain that Peter traveled to a different town to talk to Cornelius about Jesus. Show the Teaching Picture. Tell the children that missionaries travel all over the world to tell people about Jesus.
- Offer to help children print the Weekly Bible Verse on their papers.
Kindergarten— Read in a “House”

Weekly Verse: Go everywhere and teach people about Jesus. Matthew 28:19-20
Materials: Teaching Picture 11, large cardboard box (box large enough for kids to sit inside), blanket or quilt, throw pillows, books about Jesus and missionaries
- Cut a large door into one side of the box and two windows into opposite sides of the box. Place the blanket or quilt in the bottom of the box with the throw pillows. Arrange the books and Teaching Picture on the blanket.
- Invite one or two kids at a time to sit in the house and read the books. Tell the Bible story as kids show interest in the center. Comment that Peter went to Cornelius’ house; Peter told Cornelius and his family about Jesus.
