Bible Story: Abram and Lot Worked Together Genesis 13
Life Point: God’s plan is for family members to get along.
Weekly Verse: Do all you can to get along with everyone. Romans 12:18
Materials: Bible, large vinyl farm animals, cardboard blocks or shoe boxes
- Set several blocks or boxes in line. Place animals near the “fence.” Lay the Bible nearby.
- Watch children hold, move, and play with the animals. Suggest a child add blocks or boxes to your fence.
- Talk about the Bible story. Tell children that Abram and Lot worked out a plan to get along. Open the Bible to the Weekly Verse and say it to the children.
- Social Distancing Tip: Arrange the boxes and animals in several different areas where children can play individually.
3–Pre-K— Make a Footprint Snack

Materials: Bible, “Allergy Alert” (Printables), toaster, bread, cinnamon and sugar mixture in a shaker, margarine, foot-shaped cookie cutter, plastic knives, paper plates, napkins
- Post the allergy alert listing the ingredients where parents can see it. Toast a piece of bread for each child and cut it with the cookie cutter. A child can spread margarine on his footprint, then sprinkle with cinnamon and sugar.
- As children each their snack, talk about the Bible story. Say that Abram and Lot worked together so their families would not argue. Open the Bible to Genesis 13 and show Abram and Lot’s names in the Bible. Say the Weekly Verse together.
- Social Distancing Tip: Limit the activity to two children at a time. Direct the children to wash their hands before and after the activity. Give each child his own plastic knife.
Kindergarten— Draw in Wet Sand

Materials: Bible, clean play sand, 9-by-13-inch aluminum pans, large craft sticks, plastic tablecloth, paper, marker
- Cover a table or the floor with the tablecloth. Put 1-inch of sand into each pan. Dampen the sand enough so that it will hold its shape. Print the words Abram, Lot, get along, and kind on the paper. Display the paper where the children can see it as they play in the sand.
- Invite children to use a craft stick to print letters in the sand. Suggest that they print the words on the paper.
- Talk about the Bible story as kids work. Say that Abram and Lot worked together so that everyone would get along. Open the Bible and say the Weekly Verse together.
- Social Distancing Tip: Provide several pans of sand so each child can have her own. Space the pans apart on tables or the floor as kids work. When a child is finished with the activity, remove his pan from the area.
