  • Glue a spool to the back of each sponge. Pour paint into the pie pans. Add a damp paper towel to create a stamping surface.

Kindergarten—Decorate a Bible Verse Banner

Bible Story: Jesus Returned to Heaven Acts 1:4-11
Life Point: Jesus is in heaven with God.
Weekly Verse: Jesus went up into heaven. Acts 1:9

Materials: Teaching Picture 8, construction paper, markers, stickers, hole punch, yarn

  • Print the Weekly Verse on a paper for kids to copy.
  • Let each child choose a color of paper for his banner. Direct kids to print the Weekly Verse in the center of their papers. They can decorate around the verse using markers and stickers.
  • Tell the Bible story as the kids work. Point to the Teaching Picture and explain that Jesus went back to heaven to be with God.
  • When a child is finished, help her punch two hole in the top of her paper and tie one end of a yarn piece in each hold. Encourage kids to hang their banners at home to remind them that Jesus is in heaven with God.
