1s & 2s— Make Wet Footprints

Bible Story: Jesus Walked on Water Matthew 14:22-33
Life Point: Jesus can do anything because He is God’s Son.
Weekly Verse: You are the Son of God. Matthew 14:33

Materials: Teaching Picture 8, dishpan, water, towels

• Put a few inches of water in a dishpan. Lay a towel on the floor in front of the dishpan. Place the teaching picture at the other end of the towel. 
• Invite a preschooler to walk in the water. Help him take off his shoes, step into the dishpan, then step out on the towel. Look at his wet footprints on the towel. Guide him to walk to the end of the towel. Use another towel to completely dry his feet.
• Look together at the teaching picture. Comment that Jesus can do anything because He is God’s Son.

3–Pre-K— Work Puzzles

Materials: Teaching Picture 8, puzzles about Jesus

• Display the teaching picture with the puzzles. Tell the Bible story as the children work puzzles. 
• Point to Jesus in the teaching picture. Say that Jesus can do anything because He is God’s Son.

Kindergarten— Make Spray Art

Materials: Teaching Picture 8; large box; paper; spray bottles; liquid watercolors (or water tinted with food color); marker; poster board cutouts of boat, person, and fish

• Display the teaching picture on the table with the art materials. Print the Weekly Verse on a paper for kids to copy. 
• Give each child a paper and tell her to copy the verse on the top or bottom of her paper. Guide her to lay her paper in the box and arrange the cutouts on her paper. She can lightly spray the colors onto her paper and remove the cutouts. Make sure kids spray lightly so the paper will not be soaked with paint. 
• Tell the Bible story as each child works. Comment that Jesus can do anything because He is the Son of God. Tell kids the pictures will help remind them about the Bible story.
