1s & 2s— Decorate a Bible Verse Scroll
Bible Story: Paul Wrote to Timothy Acts 16: 1-4; 2 Timothy 1:1-5; 3:14-17
Life Point: People can help others know more about Jesus.
Weekly Verse: Go and tell the good news about Jesus. Mark 16:15
Materials: Teaching Picture 9, lightweight paper, wide craft sticks, tape, crayons, marker
- Cut the paper into strips. Print the Weekly Verse on each paper.
- Display the Teaching Picture with the paper and crayons.
- Invite a preschooler to use crayons to decorate a verse. Tape a craft stick to each end of the paper and roll it up like a scroll.
- Talk about the scroll and the Bible story. Comment that Paul helped Timothy learn more about Jesus.
- Social Distancing Tip: Give each child several crayons to use for the activity. Place those to the side to disinfect later.
3–Pre-K—Pack School Supplies

Materials: Teaching Picture 9, school-type backpacks, various school supplies, hole punch
- Highlight Mark 16:15 with a colored pencil and mark the page with a sticky note. Gather school supplies and backpacks. (Avoid items with pictures of cartoon and fantasy figures.) Punch holes in drawing paper and insert it in pocket folders. Place drawing items in pencil boxes or zipper bags.
- Invite preschoolers to choose items to pack in backpacks, Some boys and girls might enjoy packing and unpacking the bags many times, while others might play out going to school.
- Be intentional about relating the activity to the Bible story. Comment that children learn at school and at home. Timothy learned about God and Jesus from his mother and grandmother.
- Social Distancing Tip: Limit the number of children participating in this activity at one time. Require the children to wash their hands before and after handling the items.
Kindergarten— Play Out Family Situations

Materials: Bibles, purses, hats, baby dolls, doll care items, dishes, pots and pans
- Arrange all the items in the dramatic play center with a kitchen area. Mark the Weekly Verse in the Bibles with strips of paper.
- Invite kids to play out being a family. Say that families can help kids learn about Jesus.
- Open the Bible and read aloud the Weekly Verse. Talk about people who help kids learn about Jesus.
- Tell the Bible story as kids continue to play.
- Social Distancing Tip: Allow kids to help you disinfect the items being used as part of their play.
