Grades 1-3
Introductory Activity – Find the Verse
Materials: note cards, pen
Before the session, write the Weekly Verse on note cards, one word per card. Hide the note cards around the classroom. Say the Weekly Verse with the kids and repeat it a few times. Tell them you have hidden the verse around the room and instruct them to find all the words. Tell them to work together to put the cards in the correct order. Once they have put the verse in the right order, say the Weekly Verse together.

Game – Samaritan Skit
Materials: Bibles
Form multiple groups with the kids. Instruct them to open their Bibles to Luke 10:30-35. Tell them that they will act out the story of the Good Samaritan. Encourage them to assign someone to be a narrator, the Samaritan, the priest, and so forth. Give the groups enough time to put together their skits. Allow each group to present their skit to the rest of the class. Say the Life Point together as everyone had finished.
Craft – Neighborly Art
Materials: paper, decoration supplies (markers, crayons, stickers, glitter, glue, etc.)
Give each child a piece of paper and ensure everyone has access to the decoration supplies. Instruct them to write WHO IS MY NEIGHBOR? at the top of their page. Tell them to draw and decorate a picture of them helping someone else. Afterward, allow several volunteers to show their pictures to the class and explain why they drew them. Lead the kids to say the Life Point together.
Grades 4-6
Introductory Activity – What Does It Mean?
Materials: dry erase board, marker, eraser
Before the session, choose five vocabulary words that most children may not know. On one side of the board, write each word in a column. On the other side of the board, write each word’s definition in a different order. Instruct the kids read the words and definitions and to match the words with the correct definitions. Tell them to work together on one word at a time and tell you how to connect the word and its definition. When all the words have been matched, tell them how many they have right, but not which words are correct. Go through several rounds to try to get all of the words correct. Review each word and the correct definition. Explain that when Jesus was on earth, He taught people what scripture meant. Say the Life Point together.

Game – Good Samaritan Review
Materials: several cloth bandages, review questions from the lesson
Form two teams with the kids. Line each team up so that both teams are facing each other. Tell the kids that just as Jesus was asked questions so people could understand His spiritual knowledge, you will ask review questions from today’s Bible story. Say that the first person to get a cloth bandage from you, wrap it around someone on the opposite team, and correctly answer the question will receive a point. At the end of the activity, the team with the most points will be the winner!
Craft – Kindness Journal
Materials: paper, markers
Give everyone a piece of paper and markers. Instruct them to write KINDNESS JOURNAL at the top of the paper and the Life Point at the bottom. Tell them to decorate the edges of the paper in any manner they would like, creating a “frame” on the paper. Encourage them to place this Kindness Journal in a prominent place in their home and to write down every action they take to show kindness to someone else throughout the week. Allow them to do something kind for someone in the class so they can write something in the Kindness Journal.
