I need the Owning a Faith That Matters a week or two earlier than the posting will be. How can I access these sooner? Our church is on a different schedule than the dates in the book. Thank you for your help. I see no benefit to holding back the teacher extras. We need that information to prepare. I hope you understand and will help today.

Everything you need to lead well is in the Leader Guide. What we provide with the online Extra is only a supplement to the group plan you already have. I can’t provide you with the Extra posts any earlier because they have not been written. By delaying to “the last minute,” writers have the opportunity to pull from the latest news stories.
I keep getting a “certificate expired” error every time I access the main Bible Studies for Life page.

It is so frustrating to use this web site when you wait so long to post the sessions. I am teaching Oct. 25th going out of town to the mountains with no internet access for a week on Oct. 11th so will not be able to finish my lesson using the blo0g!! With the virus the five teachers at First Baptist Orangeburg for a class of 30 in their 80’s & 90’s are typing up their lessons and the church is mailing them out the Wed. before th Sunday we would teach in order t o keep in touch with our members. Your schedule totally sabotages our schedule and is totally teacher unfriendly!!! Jeanne Gue’
EXTRA is only a supplement to the Leader Guides. The Leader Guide include questions, discussion ideas, commentary, and helps for leading your group each week. Those teaching plans are currently available all the way to the end of February. There is no need to type your own lessons! So why is EXTRA not available early? The printed (and digital) plans were written and edited months ago, but EXTRA is a way to supplement those plans with current events. We only post two weeks out from the week most churches will study the session.
It seems you post one week out and not two weeks out! How to Love Your Neighbor Session 4 will post on August 1st. The lesson is on 7 August!
Session 4, “Honor Your Neighbor,” is suggested for the week of August 14. “Pray for Your Neighbor” is suggested for the week of August 7.

Ahhhhh! Thanks for the information. We’re one week ahead of schedule, so your posts come out the Monday following our teaching :-(. Unfortunate, but I do find the LifeWay Leader Guide to supply a great amount of content, and consideration. We love the LifeWay studies, have been using them for a long time! Our class is ages 40 – 90, and we learn every single week. Thank you.
I do really like this as a supplement and often listen to the podcast as my introduction to the lesson before I start studying the lesson in the Leader’s Guide.
I’m not sure if you know it, but this week’s session is not posted yet (Session 5, Avoiding Life’s Pitfalls). The link goes to the Session 6 info page.

i know people make mistakes, but this is unacceptable for people who use multiple resourses.
Since you no longer need to concentrate on staffing box stores, can we resolve to be diligent about posted the extras on time or stop all together.

Hi Lynn. I could have sworn I was able to hear the podcast for the first Summer Lesson on here. It is the one with Paul Kelly and you and Chris speak with him about being convicted by the spirit. But now I can not find it. Please tell me I am not crazy and direct me to the place to find it. Here it says it will not be posted until May 23.
Marilyn, it is possible it may have been incorrectly linked to the wrong session of EXTRA earlier but was later corrected. (I’ve made the mistake before.) You’ll find it with the EXTRA that posts later today.
I was wondering if the extras could come out a Little sooner, especially for summer when people are traveling. I need to get all the info to my subs before I leave and they are not available for me to print to put together a lesson packet for them to use. Also I need to print off my lesson to study while I am gone so I can be prepared when I return. Thanks!
Cheryle, we only release EXTRA two weeks prior to its use in most churches in order to keep in timely. The group plans in the Leader Guide are the key component, but because those are written months earlier, we provide EXTRA as a supplement to provide some ideas that are tied to current events.
Summer Session 1 has a release date of 5/23. It is 5/24 and has not been published yet. Not too late (of of yet) I realize, but just wondering when it will be?

I see from your site that there is no getting a head except for one week. Seems to be a lot of last-minute processes built into your product and your site.
While everything in Bible Studies for Life is planned and executed well in advance, the EXTRA site is intentionally “last minute.” This allows the writers to secure the most current news event and/or statistics available.
I am looking for material for January 28, 2024 and when I click it November 2021 material is displayed.

The above states that “Promises We Can Count on Session 2 will post May 27”. The Summer 2024 Senior Adults book has session 2 being taught on June 9. I am preparing now for that lesson. Do you have any idea when “Promises We Can Count on Session 2” will post? (I am thinking it may have been delayed because of Memorial Day)

I’m getting ready to teach the July 7 lesson but find out the Extra supplement won’t be posted until July 8. How is that going to help anyone? In the past I have been able to use Extra for the current lesson each week. Why is this one not available the week BEFORE the lesson?

Hello, I’m looking for the extras for the Adult lesson for this Sunday. Purpose Abandoned. Can you tell me where to click for them. I’m on the extras website, but I can’t click on anything. They aren’t links… just statements. It is saying that lesson 2 uploads will be posted on August 26. But I have to teach the lesson on Sunday.
That session of Extra will not post until Monday (August 26). I’m sorry you won’t have access to it, but it is only a supplement, and you have everything you need in the Leader Guide to facilitate a robust study and discussion.
Hello Lynn, thank you for your response. I must admit, it’s very disappointing though. I’ve taught a few of the lessons over the last year, and I’ve looked forward to having the extra questions and videos.
I’m just not sure why they are being presented after we actually have to facilitate the lesson.
But it’s okay, as you’ve said, I’ll use what is in the leader guide.Thank you guys for these awesome lessons, and I wish you all the best.
The Extra schedule follows the suggested schedule listed in the Table of Contents, which are the dates the overwhelming majority of groups follow. We’ve discovered that those who do not follow this schedule are behind, not ahead. The intent of Extra is to provide the latest news or stories that could add a connection or teaching point, which is why we delay it as long as we can. Even so, it is uploaded two weeks before its first use in most groups.
Would you please consider posting the leader’s guides sooner than 2 weeks before the lesson? Many teachers like to begin preparing when we have a spare moment, which could be 4 weeks prior to the actual in-class lesson. By only posting 2 weeks in front of the class you are limiting the quality of the lesson – some of us are very busy and need that extra preparation time.
The Leader Guide is published months earlier and provides more than enough content to lead a group. The online Extra is a supplement to the Leader Guide, and it is not written until two weeks out. This allows the writer to find the most current news and stories to go along with the group plan in the Leader Guide.
