Imagine Jesus’ writing a letter to your church today. What do you think He would say? Would He commend you for the ways you live?—for serving your community in real ways, for sharing generously of thing resources God has given you, or for standing firm in the truth. Or would Jesus have words of correction that might not be easy to hear. In the book of Revelation, we read that Jesus did send letters to seven churches dealing with different issues, and with some doing better than others at living out their faith. As we study these letters, we find that the issues Jesus addressed applied not only in the first century, but to our churches today.
