Parents, in today’s Bible story your child learned that God is always in control. God promised Moses and the Israelites that He would always be with them, just as He was when He led them out of slavery.

“We need to hear it again: salvation is not the reward for obedience; salvation is the reason for obedience. Jesus does not say, ‘If you obey my commandments, I will love you.’ Instead, he first washes the feet of the disciples and then says, ‘If you love me, you will keep my commandments’ (John 14:15). All of our doing is only because of what he has first done for us.” Read “Five Reasons to Obey the Ten Commandments” by Kevin DeYoung here: https://www.thegospelcoalition.org/blogs/kevin-deyoung/five-reasons-obey-ten-commandments/

Bookstore shelves are full of books claiming to guide us and show us what to do. Pick a subject, and someone is ready to give you direction on the matter. This is nothing new. Solomon said, “There is no end to the making of many books” (Ecclesiastes 12:12).
Saturday
