Use these statements to connect each session of Bible Studies for Life: Kids to Christ as you teach your children each week.
Unit 1, Session 1: Paul and Barnabas Were Missionaries
Paul and Barnabas faced many people who rejected the good news about Jesus. But God had a plan for Paul to share the gospel with Gentiles, no matter what troubles Paul faced. Many believed in Jesus. The church grew, and the gospel was shared so that people all over the world could be saved from their sin by trusting in Jesus as Lord and Savior.
Unit 1, Session 2: Paul and Silas Praised God in Prison
Lydia, the jailer, and many others were saved because they heard the gospel and believed in Jesus. Paul and Silas preached the same message to all people, no matter who they were: “Believe in the Lord Jesus and you will be saved.”
Unit 1, Session 3: Paul Preached in Athens
The men of Athens worshiped false gods whom they did not know. Paul explained to the men God’s plan of salvation. He said that God is not like the Greek idols. Only God deserves our worship! Paul talked about Jesus and the resurrection. All people can know God because Jesus took the punishment for sin that separates people from God.
Unit 1, Session 4: Paul Worked with Priscilla and Aquila
Priscilla and Aquila loved God and worshiped Him together as a family. They could worship God in their home, with their church, or wherever they wanted! When Jesus died on the cross, He removed any separation between us and God. Because of Jesus, we, too, can worship God anywhere and everywhere.
Unit 1, Session 5: Paul Spoke to an Angry Crowd
When Paul preached the Gospel, he sometimes encountered people who were angry with him and put him in danger. That wasn’t enough to stop Paul. Paul was dedicated to Jesus and was intent on doing the work of sharing the Gospel even when difficult.
Unit 2, Session 1: Abram Chose to Get Along
God had a very good plan for Abram and his family. The plan was also for all the people who would be part of Abram’s family. Many years later, a baby boy named Jesus was born into Abram’s family. Jesus was God’s plan to save people from sin.
Unit 2, Session 2: Joseph Forgave His Brothers
God sent Joseph to Egypt and blessed him so that he rose to a position of great power. God used Joseph to help Joseph’s family and many others. Jesus gave up His position of great power to be the Savior of the world.
Unit 2, Session 3: Hannah’s Family Worshiped God
God heard Hannah’s prayers, and He hears ours, too. Though God does not give us whatever we want, He will always say yes when we ask Him to save us. He sent Jesus to die on the cross for our sins so that we can live forever with God.
Unit 2, Session 4: A Couple Helped Elisha
A wealthy couple saw that Elisha needed help to live and gave him exactly what he needed. We are like Elisha, deprived of what we need for true life: a Savior. God sees our need and sent His son Jesus to live a sinless life, die on the cross, and be raised from the dead. He is our true Savior. God sent Jesus to rescue us from sin, and we can show people God’s love by helping them.
Unit 3, Session 1: Jesus Taught About Forgiveness
Nothing we do is enough to pay the debt we owe God and take away God’s punishment for our sin. Jesus came and died on the cross to pay for our sin and take the punishment we deserve. When we trust in Jesus, God forgives our sin completely. We can forgive others because God has greatly forgiven us.
Unit 3, Session 2: Jesus Taught How to Pray
Jesus taught us to pray. Because of Jesus, we can pray to the Father and ask for what we need. We can trust that God is good and loving, and we can count on Him to do what is right.
Unit 3, Session 3: Jesus Taught How to Serve
At the Passover, Jesus washed the disciples’ feet as a way to serve them. But only a few hours later, He would serve them in a much bigger way through death and resurrection. God forgives the sins of those who trust in His Son, Jesus.
Unit 3, Session 4: Jesus Taught Through Parables
The religious leaders complained that Jesus welcomed sinners. Jesus told these parables to teach about God’s forgiveness. God sent Jesus so sinners can be forgiven. As Savior, Jesus seeks sinners. He paid the ultimate price—His own life—to save people from sin.
Unit 3, Session 5: Jesus Taught He Would Return
Jesus knew He would return to heaven, which meant He would leave His disciples. Jesus promised that He would prepare a place in heaven for them. Jesus also promised to return as the conquering king. All things would be made new by Jesus’ return.
