Summer 2019 Kids Christ Connection Statements

July 20, 2019 By William Summey Leave a Comment

Use these statements to connect each session of Bible Studies for Life: Kids to Christ as you teach your children each week.

Unit 1, Session 1: The Ascension

Jesus left earth and returned to heaven, but He did not leave us alone. Jesus sent the Holy Spirit to be with us and help us do God’s work. One day, Jesus will return to make all things new and to rule as Lord over all.

Unit 1, Session 2: The Holy Spirit Empowers Witnesses

God kept His promise to send the Holy Spirit. With the Holy Spirit’s help, Jesus’ disciples could begin their work to share the gospel with the entire world. God gives the Holy Spirit to those who trust in Jesus as Lord and Savior. The Holy Spirit gives us power to do God’s work, and He changes us to be more like Jesus.

Unit 1, Session 3: Stephen

Jesus taught that sometimes people will go through difficult times when sharing the gospel, but He sent the Holy Spirit to comfort during those times. The Holy Spirit helped Stephen stay faithful during persecution for His faith, and He helps us do the same.

Unit 1, Session 4: Philip and the Ethiopian

Through Jesus’ death and resurrection, He brought salvation to believers. He told His followers to share that good news after He left. Just like He helped Philip share with the Ethiopian man, the Holy Spirit helps us know when to share Jesus’ good news.

Unit 1, Session 5: Saul’s Conversion

Jesus came into the world to save sinners. (1 Timothy 1:15) Jesus called Saul, also known as Paul, who was once an enemy to Christians, to spend the rest of his life telling people the gospel and leading them to trust Jesus as Savior.

Unit 2, Session 1: Peter and Cornelius

Jesus died to save people of every tribe, tongue, and nation. He does not discriminate or favor any type of person. Because of that, we should seek to love and share the gospel with everyone regardless of their status.

Unit 2, Session 2: The Antioch Church Helped

When we trust Jesus completely, we know that all we have belongs to Him—our time, money, talents, and everything else! Just like the church at Antioch, we can give of our possessions, time, and talents for God’s glory.

Unit 2, Session 3: People Prayed for Peter

When Jesus was on earth, He showed us how we can love other people well in many ways including sharing God’s Word, serving, and praying for them. Just like Peter, we can love other people by praying for them.

Unit 2, Session 4: Paul and Barnabas Learned About Jesus

Paul and Barnabas faced many people who rejected the good news about Jesus. But God had a plan for Paul to share the gospel with Gentiles, no matter what troubles Paul faced. Many believed in Jesus. The church grew, and the gospel was shared so that people all over the world could be saved from their sin by trusting in Jesus as Lord and Savior.

Unit 3, Session 1: Lydia Learned About Jesus

God wants to share the good news of Jesus all over the world. God uses missionaries, who serve full time to tell people about Jesus, to do that. We can pray for and give to missionaries so that they can continue sharing the gospel with people everywhere.

Unit 3, Session 2: Paul Taught in Athens

God wants us to share about Jesus wherever we are. Paul used things the people of Athens were familiar with to tell about Jesus. God puts people in our lives every day who we can tell about Jesus.

Unit 3, Session 3: Pricilia and Aquila Learned About Jesus

Paul taught Pricilla and Aquila about Jesus. Even though they were followers of Jesus, Pricilla and Aquila had more to learn about Him. We can learn more about Christ as well—especially when we are willing to listen to what older Christians have to teach us.

Unit 3, Session 4: Paul Taught in Rome

Paul faced many fearful and dangerous situations when he shared the good news of Jesus. Yet He always continued sharing, remaining faithful to God’s calling. Just like the Holy Spirit led Paul through hardship, He leads and comforts us as we too share the gospel.
