Parents, today your child heard that the church helps fellow Christians. The church in Antioch sent food to help the Jerusalem church during a time of famine. What are some ways your church reaches out to other Christians?
“Once we know we’re serving the Lord rather than men and women, we can stop worrying about whether we are under-appreciated. We can stop focusing on whether our efforts enhance our image and start concentrating on how we can best meet the needs of our neighbors.” Read “The Great Reward in Thankless Service” by Betsy Childs Howard here: https://www.thegospelcoalition.org/article/great-reward-thankless-service/
Find the Daily Bible Reading schedule on the One Conversation page your child came home with on Sunday! Read along with us as we study God’s word together. This week’s Level of Biblical Learning is God uses the church to meet the needs of people in the community and around the world.
Make a list of ways you can help Christians who are in your church, in your community, and around the world. As you memorize the Unit Verse this week, take a moment to serve someone together.
Take it Further: Check out “The Antioch Church Helped” in the Bible Studies For Life section of the Lifeway Kids app. Your children will love the interactive activities and games that go along with each lesson, found on this exciting FREE app.
Most people do not enjoy pain, conflict, or rejection, but these things happen to all of us. Christians are not immune; in fact, living a life of obedience to Christ can result in just such rejection and suffering. Thankfully, we do not face suffering alone. Christ is with us, and our sure and certain hope in Him will sustain us.
