Parents, in today’s Bible story your child heard that people can trust God to do what He says . During a famine God sent Elijah to a poor widow who helped provide for him . God provided for the widow and her son, too.
Our Daily Bible Reading found on the One Conversation page brings us to the Old Testament and the Lord versus the Nations’ Gods. What an encouragement that our Lord loves us to much.
“When God miraculously increased the widow’s oil and flour, allowing them to survive for days on what should have made just one meal, he foreshadowed the One who would multiply loaves and fishes to feed thousands. He set the stage for Jesus to demonstrate his deity—that he is the very God who had multiplied food for Elijah.” Betsy Childs Howard writes more about “When God Asks Too Much” here: https://www.thegospelcoalition.org/article/when-god-asks-too-much/

Many of us know from firsthand experience the comfort we experience when we are aware of God’s presence. One of the ways God makes His presence known is through believers. When others walk alongside us in our pain, supporting and praying for us, we sense God’s comfort.
