Life Point: People at church pray for others.
Weekly Verse: Pray for one another. James 5:16
Materials: Teaching Picture 3, white and colored construction paper, pencils, markers, colorful stickers, scissors, glue
- Display the Teaching Picture with the other materials. Tell the Bible story as children arrive at the center. Point to the Teaching Picture of the people praying. Comment that the people knew Peter was in trouble and asked God to help him.
- Give each child a piece of white paper. Help children trace around one hand and cut out the handprint. Then they can glue the handprint onto colored paper. Help them think of five people they could pray for and print each name onto one finger of the handprint. Children can decorate around their handprints using the stickers and markers. Offer to print the Weekly Verse on each child’s paper.
- Comment that people at church pray for others, just like Peter’s friends prayed for him. Tell the children to put the reminder in a place to help them remember to pray for the people named on their handprint.
