Kindergarten—Match Verse Words

Bible Story: David Wrote a Song of Thanks Psalm 138
Life Point: The Bible tells about God.
Weekly Verse: I will remember God’s words. Psalm 116:19

Materials: index cards, marker, tape, wooden blocks

  • Print each word of the Weekly Verse on a card. Make two sets of words. Tape each word to a block. Lay the blocks facedown on the floor.
  • Guide a child to turn over blocks, two at a time, to find the matching words. When a match is found, set aside the words. If a match is not found, turn the words facedown again.
  • When all the words are found, separate them into two sets. Help the children put the words in order.
  • Say the verse together. Comment that God gave us the Bible and the Bible helps us learn about God.
  • Mix the words facedown to play the game again.
