Use these statements to connect each session of Bible Studies for Life: Kids to Christ as you teach your children each week.
Unit 1, Session 1: Prophets Told About a Special Baby
God had a great plan to rescue people from sin. God’s plan was not a secret plan. The prophets told people about God’s plan. The prophets said God would send a Messiah: Jesus! Jesus would be born into the world as a baby. Jesus would live a perfect life and die on the cross to rescue people from sin.
Unit 1, Session 2: God Chose Mary and Joseph
Many of God’s prophets talked about Jesus before He was born. Everything they said about Jesus came true. Before God created the world, He planned to send Jesus. Jesus came to do God’s plan, to rescue people from sin.
Unit 1, Session 3: Jesus Was Born
Jesus was born! This was very good news! Jesus was not like other babies. Jesus is God’s Son. God sent Jesus to earth from heaven. Jesus came into the world to save people from their sins and to be their King.
Unit 1, Session 4: Wise Men Worshiped Jesus
The wise men came to worship Jesus as King. God promised to send a King who would be King forever. Jesus is the King who will always be King. Jesus is the true King, and He deserves all our worship.
Unit 2, Session 1: Jesus Visited Martha and Mary
God wanted both Mary and Martha to sit and learn from Jesus. Wisdom comes from God. He made the world and knows how it works best. The Bible says that Jesus is the wisdom of God. Jesus makes us wise and holy. He frees us from sin. (1 Cor. 1:24,30)
Unit 2, Session 2: Jesus Taught About God’s Care
Jesus spent time teaching people about who God is. God is a loving God who cares deeply for His children. God calls us to trust in His Son, Jesus, who died to rescue us from sin and death, and to tell others this good news.
Unit 2, Session 3: Jesus Healed a Man Born Blind
The man born blind had never been able to see until Jesus healed his sight. All people have a sin problem that leads to death. We all need a Healer. When we trust Jesus as Lord and Savior, God forgives our sin and heals us.
Unit 2, Session 4: (B-PK) Jesus Told About a Kind Man; (K) Jesus Told a Parable
Jesus told stories about people who were looking for things that were lost. Jesus told these stories to teach about Himself. Jesus looks for people who are lost, people who do not know Him. Jesus gave His life to save people from sin.
Unit 2, Session 5: Jesus Washed the Disciples’ Feet
Jesus loved and helped His friends and taught them to love and help one another. Jesus loved and helped us by doing for us what we could never do. Jesus is our King who died on the cross to rescue us from our sin.
Unit 3, Session 1: Hezekiah and the People Worshiped
Hezekiah led the people to return to worshiping the one, true God. The people gave sacrifices and thank offerings for God’s provision. Jesus, the Son of God, died on the cross and rose again to provide people a way to be saved from sin.
Unit 3, Session 2: Joash and the People Gave Offerings
Joash and the Israelite people showed love to God by giving money. Love is more than feelings or words—it is an action. Jesus showed God’s love for us when He died on the cross to rescue people from sin.
Unit 3, Session 3: Jesus Talked with the Teachers
As Jesus got older, He became strong and wise. God blessed Jesus, and Jesus got ready to do what God sent Him to do. God sent Jesus into the world to die on the cross and rescue people from sin.
Unit 3, Session 4: Hannah Prayed in the Tabernacle
Hannah went to the Tabernacle to pray to God because that’s where He dwelled. Because of Jesus’ death and resurrection, we don’t have to go anywhere to meet with God. God can now dwell in His people.
