Preschool: The Incredible Word of God: Session 4–Prophets Told About Jesus (November 24)

1s & 2s—Play Bell Shakers

Bible Story: Prophets Told About Jesus  Isaiah 7:14; 9:6; 11:1-5; Micah 5:2
Life Point:
The Bible tells about Jesus. 
Weekly Verse: The Bible teaches about Jesus. 2 Timothy 3:15
Materials: Teaching Picture 13, several clean plastic bottles, jingle bells, glue, narrow Christmas ribbon

  • Place a few bells in each bottle. Add a few pieces of ribbon. Attach each lid with glue.
  • Place the bottles on the floor with the Teaching Picture. Shake a bottle and sing a song about Jesus to get a child’s attention.
  • Point to the picture and talk about the Bible story. Say that the Bible tells about Jesus.

3–Pre-K—Make a Bible Verse Banner

Bible Story: Prophets Told About Jesus  Isaiah 7:14; 9:6; 11:1-5; Micah 5:2
Life Point:
The Bible tells about Jesus. 
Weekly Verse: The Bible teaches about Jesus. 2 Timothy 3:15
Materials: construction paper, labels printed with the Weekly Verse, simple colored stickers, markers

  • Cut the construction paper into 6-by-9-inch pieces. Allow each child to choose a color for his banner.
  • Give each child a verse sticker. Encourage him to decorate his banner with stickers and markers.
  • Talk about the Bible story as children work. Say that the Bible tells about Jesus.

Kindergarten— Use Letter Stencils

Bible Story: Prophets Told About Jesus  Isaiah 7:14; 9:6; 11:1-5; Micah 5:2
Life Point:
The Bible tells about Jesus. 
Weekly Verse: The Bible teaches about Jesus. 2 Timothy 3:15
Materials: Teaching Picture 13, letter stencils, colored pencils, paper

  • Print the names Isaiah, Micah, and Jesus on sheets of paper. Display the names and the Teaching Picture with the other materials.
  • Talk about the Bible story and point to the Teaching Picture as kids come to the table. Indicate the names printed on the paper.
  • Encourage kids to use the stencils to print the names or other words from the Bible story.
  • Tell kids that the Bible tells about Jesus.
