Bible Story: Paul Went to Rome Acts 27–28
Life Point: The Bible tells what happened to people who loved God and Jesus.
Weekly Verse: All God’s words are true. Psalm 119:160
Materials: Teaching Picture 5, toy boats, blue paper or cloth, cardboard blocks
- Spread the paper or cloth on the floor. Display the teaching picture nearby.
- Invite preschoolers to play with the boats or stack the blocks.
- Tell the Bible story as the children play. Comment that Paul traveled on a ship to an island; they told people about Jesus. Emphasize that all the words in the Bible are true and Paul was a real person. Say the Weekly Verse.
3–Pre-K— Paint a Path
Bible Story: Paul Went to Rome Acts 27–28
Life Point: The Bible tells what happened to people who loved God and Jesus.
Weekly Verse: All God’s words are true. Psalm 119:160
Materials: painters tape (or other easy release tape), children’s scissors, cups of washable paint, paintbrushes, painting smocks, paper
- Cut or tear 6-inch lengths of tape to the side of a table. Demonstrate how to lay pieces of tape on their papers. Children can paint over the tape. When the tape is pulled off the paper, there will be negative space that looks like a path.
- Tell the Bible story as the children paint. Comment that Paul traveled on many paths to tell people about Jesus. Say that all the stories in the Bible are true; the Bible tells what happened to people who loved God and Jesus.
- Say the Weekly Verse with the children.
Kindergarten—Travel on Ramps
Bible Story: Paul Went to Rome Acts 27–28
Life Point: The Bible tells what happened to people who loved God and Jesus.
Weekly Verse: All God’s words are true. Psalm 119:160
Materials: toy cars; wooden blocks; materials for ramps such as large mailing tubes, cardboard pieces, and wood planks
- Display the ramp materials with the cars and blocks. Explain how to use the materials to make ramps for driving the cars.
- Talk about places kindergartners like to travel in the car. Comment that Paul and friends traveled to many places to tell about Jesus, but they traveled in a ship or they walked. Remind the kids that the Bible tells many stories about what happened to people who loved God and Jesus, and all the stories are true.
- Say a prayer with the children, thanking God for the Bible. Say the Weekly Verse together.
