- Offer paper and markers for kids to draw pictures of things they can see with their eyes.
- Say the Weekly Verse and the Life Point.
Kindergarten—Make Scented Play Dough
Bible Story: Jesus Healed a Man Born Blind John 9:1-3
Life Point: Jesus can help people.
Weekly Verse: Jesus loved and helped people. Matthew 14:14
Materials: Unsweetened fruit drink mix packets, flour, salt, vegetable oil, water, measuring cups and spoons, small bowls with lids, plastic spoons, waxed paper
- Give each child a bowl with ½ cup of flour and ¼ cup of salt. Direct them to stir it together. In another container mix ½ cup cold water, ¾ teaspoon of oil, and ½ packet of drink mix. Pour the liquid into to the flour and stir until completely mixed. Take out the play dough and knead it on waxed paper until smooth. If the play dough is still too wet, add a little more flour before kneading.
- As kids make the play dough, tell the Bible story. Say that since blind people cannot see, they have to use their other senses to help them, like their sense of smell.
- Say the Life Point and the Weekly Verse.
- Allow each child to take home his play dough in the bowl with the lid.
