1s & 2s— Play with Toy Boats

Bible Story: Paul Traveled to Rome Acts 27–28
Life Point: The Bible tells what happened to people who loved God and Jesus.
Weekly Verse: All God’s words are true. Psalm 119:160

Materials: Teaching Picture 4, toy boats, blue paper or cloth, cardboard blocks

  • Spread the paper or cloth on the floor. Display the Teaching Picture with the blocks and boats.
  • Invite preschoolers to play with the boats or stack the blocks.
  • Tell the Bible story as the children play. Comment that Paul traveled on a ship to an island; they told people about Jesus. Say that you can read in the Bible what happened to people who loved God and Jesus.
  • Name other people preschoolers hear about in the Bible.

3–Pre-K— Paint a Path

Bible Story: Paul Traveled to Rome Acts 27–28
Life Point: The Bible tells what happened to people who loved God and Jesus.
Weekly Verse: All God’s words are true. Psalm 119:160

Materials: painters tape (or other easy release tape), children’s scissors, cups of washable paint, paintbrushes, painting smocks, paper

  • Explain that children can paint a path or paths on their papers. Help a child pull off and cut lengths of tape and press them onto their papers. (Suggest that children use pieces that are 6 inches or shorter. This will keep the tape from getting tangled.) Children can paint over the tape. When the tape is pulled off the paper, there will be negative space that looks like a path.
  • Tell the Bible story as the children paint. Comment that Paul traveled on many paths to tell people about Jesus. Say that the Bible tells what happened to people who loved God and Jesus.
  • Talk about people in the Bible the children have learned about.

Kindergarten— Travel on Ramps

Bible Story: Paul Traveled to Rome Acts 27–28
Life Point: The Bible tells what happened to people who loved God and Jesus.
Weekly Verse: All God’s words are true. Psalm 119:160

Materials: toy cars; wooden blocks; materials for ramps such as large mailing tubes, cardboard pieces, and wood planks

  • Display the ramp materials with the cars and blocks. Explain how to use the materials to make ramps for driving the cars.
  • Talk about places kindergartners like to travel in the car. Comment that Paul and friends traveled to many places to tell about Jesus, but they traveled in a ship or they walked.
  • Tell about other things Paul and the other disciples did that are in the Bible. Say that the Bible tells what happened to people who loved God and Jesus.
