1s & 2s—“Type” on a Keyboard

Bible Story: Lydia Learned About Jesus Acts 16:6-15
Life Point: The Bible tells about people who loved Jesus.
Weekly Verse: Grow in what you know about Jesus. 2 Peter 3:18

Materials: Teaching Picture 2, old computer keyboard

• Display the Teaching Picture near the keyboard. 
• Invite a preschooler to “type” on the keyboard. Comment that people use a keyboard on a computer to send messages to other people. Sometimes they send messages about Jesus.
• Point to the picture of Paul and Lydia. Briefly tell the Bible story. Say that the Bible tells about people who loved Jesus.

3–Pre-K— Make a Nature Suncatcher

Materials: Teaching Picture 2, clear contact plastic, small nature items such as leaves and flower petals, hole punch, yarn or ribbon

• Cut 2 squares of plastic for each child. Tape one piece on a table, sticky side up.
• When children show interest in the activity, point to the Teaching Picture. Comment that the people were outdoors by a river. Tell the Bible story and mention that the Bible tells about people who loved Jesus.
• Invite the children to stick the nature items to their plastic. When a child is finished, help him cover his piece with another piece of plastic, punch a hole in one corner, and thread a length of yarn or ribbon through the hole.

Kindergarten— Drive Cars on Roads

Materials: toy cars, wooden blocks, black construction paper

• Cut the construction paper into 3-by-12-inch strips. Lay the strips with the cars and blocks.
• Invite kids to build roads with the paper strips. They can build structures by their roads using the wooden blocks.
• As they drive the cars along the roads, suggest that they stop and pretend to tell someone about Jesus.
• Point to the Teaching Picture and talk about Paul. Comment that Paul loved Jesus and traveled many places to tell others about Jesus.
