Bible Story: Paul and Silas Sang to God Acts 16:16-34
Life Point: People can tell about Jesus at all times.
Weekly Verse: Go and tell the good news about Jesus. Mark 16:15
Materials: tabletop easel, paper, crayons, Music
- Play a song about Jesus as you invite a preschooler to draw at the easel.
- Tell the Bible story as children draw. Remark that Paul and Silas sang to God.
- Offer to print the Weekly Verse on each child’s paper. Tell each preschooler that people can tell about God at all times.
3–Pre-K— Match Locks and Keys

Weekly Verse: Go and tell the good news about Jesus. Mark 16:15
Materials: Teaching Picture 14, assorted locks and keys
- Display the teaching picture near the locks and keys.
- Invite children to find the matching key for each lock.
- Tell the Bible story as children play. Comment that Paul and Silas were in jail, locked together with chains; even though they were in jail, they sang songs to God.
- Point to Paul and Silas in the teaching picture. Comment that Paul and Silas told the jailer and his family about Jesus.
Kindergarten— Learn the Bible Verse

Weekly Verse: Go and tell the good news about Jesus. Mark 16:15
Materials: index cards, white construction paper, bag, beanbag, marker
- Write the Weekly Verse on index cards and sheets of paper, one word per card and paper. Lay the papers on the floor in order, faceup. Place the cards in the bag.
- Invite a child to play the game. He can choose a card from the bag and then toss the beanbag onto the matching word on the floor. Then place the card on the floor under the paper. Continue until all the cards are drawn and in order on the floor. Say the verse together.
- Tell the Bible story. Comment that Paul and Silas sang praises to God. Say that they told the jailer and his family about Jesus while they were in jail.
- To add a layer of difficulty to the game, put the papers facedown in random order and challenge kids to find the matching word.
