Bible Story: Paul and Barnabas Become Missionaries Acts 13:1-15,42-49
Life Point: God helps missionaries tell others about Jesus.
Weekly Verse: God chose Paul and Barnabas to do His work. Acts 13:2
Materials: Bible, strip of paper, adult shoes (no high heels), tape
- Use the tape to make a trail on the floor. At one end put the shoes. Mark Acts 13 in the Bible with the paper strip. Place the Bible at the other end of the trail.
- Invite a preschooler to wear the big shoes and walk on the trail. Talk about the Bible story as a preschooler walks.
- When a child reaches the end of the trail, open the Bible and point to Paul’s name. Comment that God helped Paul and Barnabas tell people about Jesus.
3–Pre-K— Build an Airport

Materials: Teaching Picture 11, wooden blocks, toy airplanes, black paper
- Cut black paper into three 3-by-12-inch strips. Display the teaching picture near the blocks.
- Invite children to build an airport for the airplanes. Suggest they use the black paper for runways.
- Ask if any children have traveled on an airplane before. Comment that many missionaries fly to different countries to teach about Jesus.
- Show the teaching picture and point to Paul and Barnabas. Comment that the men are praying and getting ready to send Paul and Barnabas to teach people about Jesus.
Kindergarten— Use Communication Tools

Materials: Teaching Picture 11, old telephones or cell phones, computer keyboard or old laptop computer, paper, envelopes, gel pens
- Show the teaching picture as kindergartners show interest in the center. Talk about the Bible story. Comment that Paul and Barnabas became a missionaries who traveled many places to tell people about Jesus. Say that God helps missionaries tell others about Jesus.
- As kindergartners investigate the items, discuss how each could be used to tell people about Jesus.
