Bible Story: Peter Told Cornelius About Jesus Acts 10
Life Point: People everywhere need to hear about Jesus.
Weekly Verse: Go everywhere and teach people about Jesus. Matthew 28:19-20
Materials: Teaching Picture 13, beach ball or large plastic ball
- Sit on the floor with the ball and the teaching picture. Invite a few preschoolers to sit with you and roll the ball. Say the Weekly Verse as you roll the ball to a child. Encourage her to roll the ball to a friend.
- Each time the ball is rolled, say the Weekly Verse. Invite preschoolers to say the verse with you.
- Stop rolling the ball and tell the Bible story. Show the teaching picture. Comment that Peter knew people everywhere need to hear about Jesus.
3–Pre-K— Draw on Maps

Life Point: People everywhere need to hear about Jesus.
Weekly Verse: Go everywhere and teach people about Jesus. Matthew 28:19-20
Materials: Teaching Picture 13, old maps cut into 8-by-10-inch pieces, markers, highlighters
- Display the teaching picture with the maps and markers.
- Give each child a map piece and invite him to draw with the markers. Explain that maps show different roads people can travel on to get to another place. Talk about places the children might have traveled.
- Tell the Bible story as children continue to draw. Explain that Peter traveled to a different town to talk to Cornelius about Jesus. Show the teaching picture. Tell the children that missionaries travel all over the world to help people hear about Jesus, because people everywhere need to hear about Jesus.
- Offer to help children print the Weekly Bible Verse on their papers.
Kindergarten— Read in a “House”

Weekly Verse: Go everywhere and teach people about Jesus. Matthew 28:19-20
Materials: Bible, Teaching Picture 13, large cardboard box (box large enough for kids to sit inside), blanket or quilt, throw pillows, books about Jesus or missionaries, strip of paper
- Cut a large door into one side of the box and two windows into opposite sides of the box. Place the blanket or quilt in the bottom of the box with the throw pillows. Use the strip of paper to mark the Weekly Verse in the Bible. Arrange the Bible, books, and teaching picture on the blanket.
- Invite one or two kids at a time to sit in the house and read the books. Tell the Bible story as kids show interest in the center. Comment that Peter went to Cornelius’ house; Peter told Cornelius and his family about Jesus.
- Help a child open the Bible to the Weekly Verse. Point to the words as you say it. Comment that people everywhere need to hear about Jesus.
