Bible Story: Paul and Silas Praised God Acts 16:16-34
Life Point: People can tell about Jesus at all times.
Weekly Verse: Sing to God; tell all He has done. Psalm 105:2
Materials: Teaching Picture 2, small plastic bottles with lids, small jingle bells, glue, stickers, Music
- Display the picture with the other materials.
- Help a preschooler put a few bells into a bottle. Monitor this carefully so children don’t put bells in their mouths.
- Glue the lid and close it securely. Offer stickers for children to decorate the bottles.
- Play a song about Jesus and encourage the children to shake their bottles to the music.
- Show the teaching picture and talk about Paul and Silas. Comment that people can tell about Jesus at all times, especially when singing.
3–Pre-K — Draw to Music

Weekly Verse: Sing to God; tell all He has done. Psalm 105:2
Materials: Teaching Picture 2, Music, paper, markers or crayons
- Place the music source near the art materials. Display the teaching picture.
- Choose several selections of music with different styles and tempos.
- Invite children to draw while the music plays. Tell them to listen to the music and draw how the music makes them feel.
- Show the teaching picture and talk about Paul and Silas. Comment that Paul and Silas sang to God even in prison. Say the Weekly Verse with the children.
Kindergarten — Make Musical Instruments

Materials: Teaching Picture 2, Music, small wooden dowels, plastic beads, hot glue gun (teacher’s use)
- When everyone has finished their beads, play a song about Jesus as the children play their sticks.
- Use the glue gun and glue around one end of the dowels, about 1 inch from the end. Display the teaching picture with the other materials.
- Show the kids how to thread beads onto the sticks from the long end. They should cover the sticks about halfway. Each child should make two sticks.
- When a child has finished beading his sticks, the teacher can but another bead of hot glue around the bottom.
- Show the teaching picture and talk about the Bible story as children work. Say that people can tell about Jesus at all times; Paul and Silas told about Jesus in while in jail.
