  • Pour paint into the aluminum pans over paper towels. Display the teaching picture with the other materials.
  • Direct the children to put on smocks before painting. Show them how to press a shoe into the paint and then onto their papers. Offer to print the Weekly Verse onto their papers.
  • Show the Teaching Picture as you talk about the Bible story. Point out Paul and Barnabas in the picture. Say that they walked many places to tell people about Jesus. Say the Weekly Verse together.

Kindergarten — Make a Mobile

Bible Story: Paul and Barnabas Were Missionaries Acts 13
Life Point: Missionaries go and tell people about Jesus.
Weekly Verse: God chose Paul and Barnabas to do His work. Acts 13:2

Materials: Teaching Picture 1, small embroidery hoops, yarn, index cards, markers, hole punch

  • Before the session, make a list of missionary prayer requests. (Visit kompray.imb.org for a list of prayer requests from missionary kids.)
  • Display the teaching picture with the other materials.
  • As kids join you, show the picture and talk about the Bible story. Comment that Paul and Barnabas had people praying for them on their missionary journeys.
  • Show the list of prayer requests. Tell the kids they can make a mobile as a reminder to pray for missionaries.
  • Help each child select several requests. He can print words or draw pictures on cards to represent the requests. Punch holes in the cards and tie lengths of yarn through the holes. Then tie the other end of the yarn to the hoop.
  • Say the missionaries go and tell people about Jesus. Say the Weekly Verse together. Suggest that the kids hang their mobiles in their rooms.
