Use these statements to connect each session of Bible Studies for Life: Kids to Christ as you teach your children each week.
Unit 1, Session 1: John Told About Jesus
God gave John the Baptist a special job. John told people, “Get ready for Jesus! Jesus is coming!” God sent Jesus to earth from heaven. When Jesus was older, He went out to teach people about God. Jesus was here, and John’s job was finished.
Unit 1, Session 2: Jesus Chose Disciples
Jesus chose 12 men to follow Him and learn about Him. He wanted the men to learn that Jesus was God’s Son who had come to take away sin. After Jesus went back to heaven, these men told the good news of Jesus throughout the world.
Unit 1, Session 3: People Learn From Jesus
While Jesus was on earth, He taught people how they should pray. People learned from Jesus then, and people can still learn from Jesus today by reading and studying the Bible. Today, we read the Bible and learn from it to know about Jesus, God’s Son.
Unit 1, Session 4: People Praise Jesus
When God’s people prayed to God or praised Him, God heard them. He promised to answer them. That’s what God did when He sent His Son, Jesus. Jesus died on the cross to give people what they need the most: to be rescued from sin.
Unit 2, Session 1: (B-2) Jesus Fed the People (3-K) Jesus Is Alive
B-2: Jesus gave the people food so they would not be hungry. The next day, Jesus said that He is the bread of life. (John 6:35) Only Jesus can give us everything we need. Jesus gives us forgiveness, friendship with God, and life forever with Him.
3-K: Jesus died on the cross for our sins, but He rose from the dead and is alive! God raised Jesus from the dead to be the King over everything. Jesus rescues us from sin and promises that we will live forever with Him.
Unit 2, Session 2: Jesus Said, “Go”
Jesus told His friends to tell all people in all places about Him. Jesus’ friends could do this because Jesus is in charge of everything, and He promised He would be with them. When we follow Jesus, He promises to always be with us too. Jesus’ mission to His friends is our mission too. We are to tell people about Jesus so they can follow Him.
Unit 2, Session 3: Jesus Taught Two Men
Jesus told the two men that the whole Bible is about Jesus. All along, God had a plan to send His Son to rescue people from sin. No matter what part of the Bible we read, it all points to what Jesus did for us in His living, dying, and coming alive again.
Unit 2, Session 4: (B-PK) Breakfast with Jesus (K) Jesus Returned to Heaven
B-PK: When Jesus was arrested, His friends ran away. Jesus showed His friends that He still loved them and wanted them to follow Him. Sometimes we make mistakes as we follow Jesus too. Jesus rescued us from sin. We know He forgives us and wants us to keep following Him.
K: Jesus left earth and returned to heaven, but He did not leave us alone. Jesus promised to send the Holy Spirit. The Holy Spirit helps us do God’s work on earth while we wait for Jesus to come back and make everything new.
Unit 3, Session 1: God Gave the Commandments
God gave us rules to show that He is holy. Our sin keeps us away from God, but Jesus came to bring us back to Him. Jesus is holy; He never sinned. We can trust Him to forgive our sin.
Unit 3, Session 2: Jeremiah Wrote God’s Words
God chose Jeremiah before he was born to tell people what God said. God had also planned all along for His Son, Jesus, to show God’s love for people by dying on the cross. Jesus rescues people from sin.
Unit 3, Session 3: Josiah Learned from the Lost Scroll
The Bible is powerful. When Josiah read the Bible, the people chose to do what it said. Today, we can learn about Jesus from the Bible. He helps us say no to doing wrong and He died to rescue us from sin.
Unit 3, Session 4: Ezra Taught About God
Ezra read from the Bible to the people. The Bible helps us know the right things to do. We do wrong things a lot, but when we know and love Jesus, He helps us say no to sin. Jesus died to rescue us from sin.
Unit 3, Session 5: A Song About the Bible
King David knew that God’s Word is truth and will last forever. Even today, people can trust the Bible and its message that if we trust Jesus, we can live eternally with God.
