Materials: Bible, books about Jesus, blanket or quilt
- Arrange the books and the Bible on the quilt on the floor. Open the Bible to John 20.
- Invite a child to sit with you and look at a book. Offer to read the books to him. Talk about how Jesus helped people learn what God wanted them to do.
- Point to the Bible as you say the Weekly Verse.
3–Pre-K— Make Bubble Wrap Prints

John 20:31
Materials: Bible, Teaching Picture 3, white paper, marker, bubble wrap, tape, wooden blocks, shallow containers of paint, painting smocks, newspaper
- Cover the table with newspaper. Cut the bubble wrap to fit around individual blocks and tape it to the blocks.
- Print the Weekly Verse on a paper for each child. Help a child put on a smock before painting.
- Show the children how to press the bubble-wrapped block into paint and then onto a paper. Talk about the Bible story and show the Teaching Picture as children paint.
- Open the Bible to Matthew 5. Show the passage to a child and comment that people can learn from Jesus in the Bible.
Kindergarten—Make Play Dough Words

Materials: Teaching Picture 3, large index cards, clear contact plastic, marker, play dough
- Before the session print the following words onto large index cards, one word per card: LEARN, GOD, JESUS, BIBLE, and any other words from the Bible story. Laminate the cards or cover them with clear contact plastic.
- Display the Teaching Picture with the cards and play dough.
- Invite kids to use the play dough to spell the words on the cards. Guide them to make “ropes” and form them into letters. They can put the letters on top of the cards.
- Point to the Teaching Picture and tell the Bible story as kids work.
