Bible Story: Jesus Chose Disciples Mark 1:16-20; 2:13-14; 3:13-19
Life Point: People can obey Jesus.
Weekly Verse: Jesus said, “Follow Me.” Mark 1:7
Materials: Teaching Picture 2; box; shredded paper; items used to help such as wooden spoon, bandage, glove, toy hammer (add other items as you wish)
- Hide the items in the paper inside the box. Place the box on the floor with the Teaching Picture nearby.
- Invite a preschooler to dig into the box and find an item. Talk about how that item is used to help.
- Show the Teaching Picture and talk about the Bible story. Comment that Jesus chose men to help others.
3–Pre-K— Make Prints in Play Dough

Materials: Bible, play dough, small shoes with different soles, play dough tools (optional)
- Give each child a lump of play dough. Guide him to flatten his play dough and press the different shoes into the play dough.
- Comment that Jesus walked many places to tell people about God. He chose 12 men to help Him.
- Open the Bible and read Mark 1:7
Kindergarten— Trace Around the Number 12

Materials: Teaching Picture 2, paper, markers
- On a sheet of paper, print the numeral 12 in the center. Make the numerals large enough to fill half the paper. Make a paper for each child.
- When kids are interested, show them how to use different colors of markers to trace around the numerals.
- Tell the Bible story as kids are working. Ask: “How many disciples did Jesus choose?”
- Open the Bible and read Mark 1:7. Comment that Jesus chose 12 men to learn from Him and obey Him.
