Bible Story: The Bereans Learned from Paul Acts 17:1-12

Materials: Bible, strip of paper, paper footprints, tape
- Tape a path of paper footprints on the floor in a low traffic area of your room. Mark today’s story in the Bible using the paper strip. Lay the Bible at one end of the path.
- Invite a preschooler to walk along the path to the Bible. When you get to the end, help her open the Bible to the marked passage and talk about the Bible story.
- Comment that the people read in the Bible to see if what Paul said was true. Say that people show love to God by learning from the Bible.
3–Pre-K— Read to Dolls

Materials: Bible, paper, two straws, tape, marker, dolls, quilt, pillows, books about Jesus
- Make a small scroll with the paper by taping a straw to each end of a paper strip. Print the Weekly Verse in the center of the scroll and roll both ends to the center. Spread the quilt on the floor with the pillows, dolls, Bible, scroll, and other books.
- Invite boys and girls to sit and read to the dolls. Comment that people show love for God by learning from the Bible.
- Briefly tell the Bible story. Thank God for the Bible and for Jesus.
Kindergarten— Search the Bible

Materials: Bibles, index cards, marker, paper strips, highlighting markers (optional)
- Print several words from the Bible story onto separate index cards. Use words such as Paul, Berea, synagogue, and Scriptures. Mark today’s story in the Bibles using paper strips.
- Show the Bibles and the words to the kindergartners. Read each word and talk about how it fits in the Bible story. Help a child open a Bible. Point to the references for the story. If you wish, kids can highlight the words as they find them in the Bible.
- Help kids understand that people show love for God by learning from the Bible.
