Life Point: God helps people to obey Him.
Weekly Verse: Call to me and I will help you. Psalm 50:15
Materials: 3 Bibles of different sizes, poster board, marker, box, shredded paper
- Trace around each Bible onto the poster board. Hide the Bibles in the box of shredded paper.
- Invite a preschooler to find the Bibles in the box. When a Bible is found, help him match it to its outline.
- Open a Bible to Daniel. Comment that Daniel did what God said to do. Hold the open Bible as you say the Weekly Verse to the children.
- Social Distancing Tip: Disinfect the Bibles after a child touches them.
3–Pre-K— Play a Color Game
Bible Story: Daniel in the Lions’ Den Daniel 6
Life Point: God helps people to obey Him.
Weekly Verse: Call to me and I will help you. Psalm 50:15
Materials: Teaching Picture 4, illustrated preschool Bible, 4 colors of construction paper, beanbag, tape
- Cut a 3-by-9-inch strip from each piece of construction paper. Tape the remaining squares into a larger square of four colors. Place the strips in the Bible at the following stories or pictures: Daniel in the Lions’ Den—Daniel 6; Noah—Genesis 6; Woman Cared for Elijah—1 Kings 17; Joshua and Jericho—Joshua 6.
- Tell the Bible story as kids show interest in the game. Mention that God helped Daniel obey Him and kept him safe. Tell kids that many stories in the Bible tell how God helped people obey.
- Place the color square on the floor. A child can toss the beanbag onto the square and open the Bible to the same color marker in the Bible. Talk about the story pictured and how God helped someone.
- Pray and thank God for helping people obey Him.
- Social Distancing Tip: As children gather to play the game, form them in a circle with several feet between each child. If possible, give each child her own beanbag.
