1s & 2s— Look Through Tubes
Bible Story: God Sent Rain 1 Kings 18:1-2,41-46
Life Point: God can do all things.
Weekly Verse: God is good to us. Psalm 73:1
Materials: Teaching Picture 3, cardboard tubes, clear contact plastic, tape
- Attach the Teaching Picture a wall eye level. Cover several cardboard tubes with clear contact plastic.
- Lead preschoolers to look at the Teaching Picture though the tubes. Comment that Elijah’s helper looked for clouds in the sky; God sent the rain after many years, because God can do all things.
- Take a one or two preschoolers at a time outdoors, or peer through the windows, to look for clouds in the sky.
- Social Distancing Tip: Disinfect the tubes after each child’s use.
3–Pre-K—Make Rain

Materials Teaching Picture 3, gallon-size ziplock bag, large clear container of water, strainers, colanders, drop cloth, towels
- Put a few inches of water into the large clear container. Layer the materials in this order: drop cloth, towel, Teaching Picture in ziplock bag, clear container of water.
- Invite boys and girls to play with the water and make “rain” with the strainers and colanders. Point to the Teaching Picture under the water.
- Talk about the Bible story as the children play. Comment that God sent rain, because God can do all things.
- Social Distancing Tip: Limit the activity to one or two children at a time. Station each child at opposite ends of the bin of water. Tell kids to wash their hands before playing in the water.
Kindergarten—Stamp the Bible Verse
Bible Story: Elijah on Mount Carmel 1 Kings 18
Life Point: God is the only God
Weekly Verse: The Lord is God. There is no other. 1 Kings 8:60
Materials: Teaching Picture 3, paper, marker, letter stamps, stamp pads
- Print the Weekly Verse onto a paper. Display the verse with the materials on a table.
- As kids come to the table, point to the Teaching Picture and tell the Bible story. Mention that God is the only God, and He showed the people on Mount Carmel that He is the only God.
- Point to the verse paper and read it aloud to the kids. Encourage them to use the letter stamps to print the verse on their papers.
- Pray, thanking God that He is the only God.
- Social Distancing Tip: Allow no more than two kids at a time to participate in this activity. Space them at opposite ends of the table. Encourage them to wash their hands when finished.
