1s & 2s— Talk into Megaphones
Bible Story: Joshua and Jericho Joshua 6:1-21
Life Point: God helps people know what to do.
Weekly Verse: Love God and always do what He says. Deuteronomy 30:20
Materials: Teaching Picture 2, toy megaphones
- Hold up a megaphone and use it to say the Bible Verse.
- Encourage preschoolers to repeat the Bible verse into a megaphone.
- Show the Teaching Picture and explain how the people shouted before God knocked down the walls of Jericho. Tell children that God helped the people know what to do.
- Social Distancing Tip: Keep the children spaced out during the activity. Be sure to disinfect the megaphones after each use.
3–Pre-K— Build a Bible Times Town

Materials: Illustrated Bible or Bible dictionary, wooden blocks, small boxes, cardboard pieces
- Open the Bible or dictionary to a picture of a Bible times house. Lay the book on the floor with the other materials.
- Encourage kids to use the blocks, boxes, and cardboard pieces to build a town. Show the picture of the houses in the book.
- Tell the story while children build. Comment that the city of Jericho was protected by tall walls around it; God helped the people know how to defeat Jericho.
- Social Distancing Tip: Encourage preschoolers to leave space between themselves as they play. If necessary, use tape to divide the block area for distance play.
Kindergarten— Build a Bible Verse Wall

Weekly Verse: Love God and always do what He says. Deuteronomy 30:20
Materials: Teaching Picture 2, wooden blocks, marker, index cards, tape
- Print the words and reference of the Weekly Verse onto separate index cards. Make at least two sets. Tape each card to a block.
- Arrange the blocks with the cards on the floor of the block area. Prop the Teaching Picture where the kids can see it while building.
- Invite kids to build a wall with the Bible verse. Some kindergartners may be able to read most of the words. Encourage them to put the words in the correct order as they build the wall.
- Talk about the Bible story as kids build. Comment that God helped the people know what to do, and God knocked down the walls of Jericho.
- Social Distancing Tip: If possible, make a set of cards for as many areas of block play as you have room for. Laminate the cards or cover them with clear contact plastic so they can be disinfected after use.
