1s & 2s—Make a Tape Picture
Bible Story: The Church Sent Missionaries Acts 13
Life Point: People at church help all people learn more about Jesus.
Weekly Verse: Tell all people the wonderful things God has done. Psalm 96:3
Materials: Teaching Picture 9, masking tape, paper, marker, colored tape (optional)
- Cut pieces of tape and attach them to the edge of a table. Display the teaching picture with the other materials. Print the Weekly Verse on a paper for each child.
- Help preschoolers remove pieces of tape and stick them to a sheet of paper to make a picture. Tell the Bible story as preschoolers work. Show the teaching picture and point to Barnabas and Saul. Say that they were going to help people learn about Jesus. Read the Weekly Verse with the preschoolers.
3–Pre-K— Build an Airport

Materials: Teaching Picture 9, wooden blocks, toy airplanes, black paper
- Cut black paper into three 3-by-12-inch strips. Display the teaching picture nearby.
- Invite children to build an airport for the airplanes. Suggest they use the black paper for runways.
- Ask if any children have traveled on an airplane before. Comment that many missionaries fly to different countries to teach about Jesus.
- Show the teaching picture and point to Paul and Barnabas. Comment that the men are praying and getting ready to send Paul and Barnabas on a long trip to teach people about Jesus. Tell the kids that people at church help all people learn more about Jesus.
Kindergarten— Work Puzzles

Materials: Teaching Picture 9; wooden puzzles featuring Jesus and missionaries, old teaching pictures cut into puzzles
- Display the teaching picture with the puzzles on a table.
- Invite kids to work the puzzles. Tell the Bible story as they work. Comment that Paul and Barnabas were getting ready to leave on a long trip to teach people about Jesus. Tell kids that people at church help all people learn more about Jesus.
- As kids finish a puzzle, talk with them about what is happening in the picture. Remark that they can tell their friends and other people about Jesus, too.
- Say the Weekly Verse and lead kids to say it with you.
