1s & 2s— Find the Picture
Bible Story: Joash and the People Gave 2 Chronicles 24:1-14
Life Point: People at church give money to help the church do God’s work.
Weekly Verse: Bring an offering to church. Malachi 3:10
Materials: Bible, Teaching Picture 6, box to fit the picture, toy paper money
- Lay the teaching picture in the box and cover it with the money. Place the box on the floor with the Bible.
- Invite 1s and 2s to find something under the money in the box. When they uncover the picture, tell the Bible story. Point out things of interest in the picture.
- Comment that people give money at church. Open the Bible to Malachi 3:10 and say the Weekly Verse.
3–Pre-K— Match Nuts and Bolts

Materials: Teaching Picture 6, various sizes of nuts and matching bolts, 2 containers
- Put the nuts and bolts into separate containers. Display the teaching picture.
- Invite children to match the nuts and bolts. Children can choose a bolt and find one of the nuts that fits then screw it on.
- Point to the teaching picture and tell the Bible story as children play. Comment that the people gave money to help the builders repair the temple. Say that people give money at your church, too.
- Talk about ways your church uses money people give for offerings.
Kindergarten— Clean the Room

Materials: Teaching Picture 6, spray bottles, cloths or paper towels, broom and dustpan
- Invite kids to sit with you and briefly tell the Bible story. Show the teaching picture and point out the workers repairing the temple.
- Give kids a spray bottle and cloths or the broom and encourage them to help clean the room. Kids can spray and wipe tables and countertops or chairs. Another child can use the broom to clean any messes on the floor. Thank the kids for their hard work.
- Talk about other ways the people in your church give offerings and how they are used.
