1s & 2s— Crawl Through a Tunnel
Bible Story: God Sent Jonah Jonah 1–3
Life Point: God knows everything.
Weekly Verse: God, You know all about me. Psalm 139:3
Materials: Teaching Picture 11, Kids Activity Page, large cardboard box
- Open both ends of the box and lay it on its side to create a tunnel. Place the teaching picture and Activity Page at the end of the tunnel.
- Encourage 1s and 2s to crawl or walk through the tunnel. When they reach the end, show the picture and talk about Jonah. Say God knows everything, so He knew Jonah was running away.
- Say the Weekly Verse: “God, You know all about me.”
3–Pre-K— Make Shape People

Materials: Teaching Picture 11; construction paper cut into circles, triangles, squares, and rectangles; paper; glue sticks; child-size scissors
- Display the teaching picture with the art supplies. Point to Jonah and tell the children that Jonah traveled to tell the people of Nineveh about God.
- Invite them to glue the shapes on paper to make people. Offer the scissors to cut any shapes into smaller sizes.
- Comment that God knows everything; He knows all about people and what they do. Offer to print the Weekly Verse on a child’s paper.
Kindergarten—Match Verse Words

Materials: index cards, marker, tape, wooden blocks
- Print the Weekly Verse on index cards, one word per card. Include the reference. Make two sets.
- Tape each card to a wooden block. Place the blocks facedown on the floor.
- Invite two or more kindergartners to play a game by turning over two blocks to find a matching word. Tell the Bible story as they play the game. Say that God knew Jonah had run away, and God knows everything!
- When all the matches are found, challenge the children to “build” the verse in order.
