Materials: Teaching Picture 9, cardboard box (large enough to hold Teaching Picture), peg type clothespins
- Lay the Teaching Picture in the box, faceup. Cover the picture with the clothes pins.
- Invite a preschooler to remove a clothespin and clip it on the side of the box.
- As the picture is uncovered, talk about the Bible story. Comment that God hears people pray.
3–Pre-K— Make Door Hangers

Materials: Teaching Picture 9, poster board, yarn, hole punch, markers, colorful shape stickers
- Cut the poster board into 4-by-6-inch pieces. Print the Weekly Verse and Life Point onto each poster board piece. Display the Teaching Picture with the art materials.
- Give each child a poster board piece. Explain that they can make a door hanger for their rooms. Read the words printed.
- Lead kids to decorate their door hangers with markers and stickers. Help them punch a hole in each top corner and tie the ends of a piece of yarn into each hole.
- Point to the Teaching Picture and talk about the Bible story. Thank God that He hears when people pray.
Kindergarten— Unscramble the Verse
Bible Story: God Called Moses Exodus 3:1–4:17
Life Point: God hears people pray.
Weekly Verse: God hears my prayers. Psalm 66:19
Materials: Bible, 2 sentence strips, marker, scissors, paper strip
- Put the paper strip in the Bible at Psalm 66:19. Print the Weekly Verse onto each sentence strip. Cut apart the words of one strip. Then cut each word horizontally, dividing the top of the word from the bottom.
- Lay the sentence strip and the word pieces on a table or the floor with the Bible. Encourage a child to reassemble the sentence puzzle. She may use the uncut strip for reference as needed.
- Open the Bible and read the verse. Comment that God heard His people praying for help. Say that God hears our prayers, too.
