1s & 2s— Make a House Collage
Bible Story: A Couple Helped Elisha 2 Kings 4:8-17
Life Point: People can give what they have to help others.
Weekly Verse: Give to God’s people when they need it. Romans 12:13
Materials: Teaching Picture 13, manila paper, pictures of furniture and other house items cut from catalogs or internet, glue sticks, marker
- Cut each paper into a house shape. Print the Weekly Verse along the bottom of each paper.
- Give each preschooler a house-shaped paper and a glue stick. Point to the verse as you say it. Encourage him to choose items to glue onto his house.
- Comment that a family helped Elisha by building a room onto their house. Show the teaching picture and point to each person.
3–Pre-K— Play with Doll House Furniture

Materials: Teaching Picture 13, doll house furniture, wooden blocks
- Put the furniture with the blocks. Display the teaching picture.
- Suggest that children can build a house and fill it with the furniture.
- Talk about the Bible story as you show the teaching picture. Comment that people can give what they have to help others.
- Say the Weekly Verse with the children.
Kindergarten—Build on a Roof
Bible Story: A Couple Helped Elisha 2 Kings 4:8-17

Materials: Teaching Picture 13, Lego® blocks, medium-sized box, brown paper, marker
- Cover the box with brown paper. Draw doors and windows on the sides of the box to look like a house. Place the box with the Lego® blocks and the teaching picture.
- Tell the Bible story when children come to the center. Encourage them to work together to build on the roof of the “house.”
- Say the Life Point and the Weekly Verse.
