Bible Story: Isaac Kept Peace Genesis 26:1-6,12-33
Life Point: People can show love to those who are unkind.
Weekly Verse: Love your neighbors. Leviticus 19:18
Materials: Bible, Teaching Picture 12, cardboard box with rope handle or small wagon, doll, animal figures
- Place the Bible, doll, and animals near the wagon. Prop the teaching picture nearby.
- Invite a preschooler to pull the wagon loaded with the items. Comment that Isaac and his family had to move; they moved using wagons to carry their possessions.
- Show the teaching picture. Remark that Isaac showed kindness even though the others were not kind to him; he chose to move to a new place and not fight with the people.
3–Pre-K—Make Gifts

Materials: Teaching Picture 12, allergy alert sign, ingredients for snack mix, bowls and spoons for each ingredient, ziplock bags, adhesive labels, marker
- Post the allergy sign listing the ingredients in the mix. Display the teaching picture.
- Invite children to join the activity. Tell the Bible story and show the teaching picture. Comment that Isaac chose to be kind even though the others were not kind.
- Tell kids they can show kindness by making a gift for someone. Give each child 3 bags. Guide kids to fill each bag with a combination of the ingredients. Print the names of those to whom the bags will be given. (You could choose to let children each make one bag for themselves and two to give away.)
- Thank the children for showing kindness. State the Life Point and say the Weekly Verse.
Kindergarten—Pour and Measure Gravel

Materials: Teaching Picture 12, container of aquarium gravel, scoops, cups, bowls, scale, magnifying glasses, clipboards, paper, pencils
- Display the teaching picture with the materials.
- Invite kids to explore the gravel. They can scoop and pour, measure, examine, and weigh the gravel. Encourage them to use the paper to record any observations about the gravel.
- Tell the Bible story as the kids play. Point to the teaching picture. Comment that Isaac kept digging wells in different places; he chose to be kind even though the others were not kind to him. Say that people can show love to those who are unkind. Say the Weekly Verse together.
