Bible Story: Abram and Lot Genesis 13
Life Point: Family members can get along with one another.
Weekly Verse: Be kind to one another. Ephesians 4:32
Materials: Bible, large vinyl farm animals, cardboard blocks or shoe boxes
- Set several blocks or boxes in line. Place animals near the “fence.” Lay the Bible nearby.
- Watch children hold, move, and play with the animals. Suggest a child add blocks or boxes to your fence.
- Talk about the Bible story. Tell children that Abram and Lot were family; they found a way to get along with one another.
- Open the Bible to the Weekly Verse and say it to the children.
3–Pre-K— Draw with Chalk

Materials: Teaching Picture 12, paper, colored chalk, small cups of water
- Print the Weekly Verse at the top of a paper for each child. Display the Teaching Picture with the art supplies.
- Show children how to dip the chalk into water and then draw on their papers.
- Point to the Teaching Picture as you tell the Bible story. Comment that Abram and Lot found a way to not quarrel. Read the Weekly Verse from each child’s paper.
Kindergarten— Plant Grass Seed

Weekly Verse: Be kind to one another. Ephesians 4:32
Materials: Teaching Picture 12, small plastic cups, potting soil, plastic spoons, permanent marker, grass seed, spray bottle of water
- Display the Teaching Picture with the materials.
- Use the marker to print each child’s name on her cup. Help kids to spoon some dirt into a cup, sprinkle some seed on the soil, and cover the seed with more dirt. Then they can use the spray bottle to water the seed.
- Tell the Bible story as children are planting. Show the Teaching Picture. Mention that Abram and Lot had to move to find enough grass for all their animals. Lead kids to say the Weekly Verse with you.
