1s & 2s— Play with People Figures
Bible Story: Rahab Helped the Israelites Joshua 2; 6
Life Point: People can choose to do what God tells them to do.
Weekly Verse: Do what is right and good. Deuteronomy 6:18
Materials: Teaching Picture 1, vinyl or wooden people figures, cardboard blocks
- Arrange the people figures with a stack of blocks. Prop the teaching picture where preschoolers can see it while playing.
- Talk about the Bible story as preschoolers play with the figures. Comment that people can choose to do what God tells them to do.
- Point to the teaching picture and talk about the Bible story. Say the Bible verse “Do what is right and good.”
3–Pre-K— Make a Footprint Reminder

Weekly Verse: Do what is right and good. Deuteronomy 6:18
Materials: construction paper footprints, markers, colorful stickers, hole punch, yarn
- Print the Life Point on each footprint. Read the Life Point to each child. Encourage the children to decorate the footprint with markers and stickers.
- Talk about the Bible story as children work on their reminders. Tell the children that Rahab chose to help the men hide, and God saved her family. Say the Weekly Verse with the children.
- Help each child punch a hole in her reminder. Thread a length of yarn through the hole and tie the ends together. Encourage the her to hang the reminder somewhere to remind her to choose to do what is right.
Kindergarten— Make Clothespin People

Weekly Verse: Do what is right and good. Deuteronomy 6:18
Materials: Teaching Picture 1, peg-type clothespins, fine-point permanent markers, wooden blocks; Option: fabric scraps, glue sticks
- Place the materials with the blocks. Prop the teaching picture where the kids can see it.
- Show kids the clothespins and markers. Explain how to use the markers to draw facial features on the head of the clothespin. As an option, kids can glue fabric on the clothespins to make clothes for their people.
- Encourage kids to play out the Bible story using the people and the blocks. Point to the teaching picture and talk about the Bible story. Comment that Rahab chose to do the right thing; she helped hide the men. Tell kids that people can choose to do what God tells them to do. Say the Weekly Verse together.
