1s & 2s— Make Leaf Prints
Bible Story: Jesus Rode into Jerusalem Matthew 21:1-11; Mark 11:1-11
Life Point: Jesus is special.
Weekly Verse: God loved us and sent His Son. 1 John 4:10
Materials: Teaching Picture 6, “Allergy Alert” (Printables), paper, assortment of leaves of different shapes, paint in cups, paintbrushes, painting smocks, marker
- Post the allergy alert with the kinds of leaves being used for the activity. Print the Weekly Verse at the top of a paper for each preschooler. Help preschoolers put on smocks to paint.
- Help an older preschooler brush paint onto the back of a leaf and press it onto her paper. For younger preschoolers, paint the back yourself and let him press it on the paper.
- Point to the Teaching Picture and tell the Bible story. Comment that people put branches with leaves on the road in front of Jesus. Point to the verse on a child’s paper and read it to the children. Say that the people knew Jesus was special.
