1s & 2s—Play with Cars

Bible Story: Jesus Taught Two Men Luke 24:13-35
Life Point: Jesus helped people learn about Him.
Weekly Verse: Tell people about Jesus. Matthew 28:19

Materials: Teaching Picture 9, emergency vehicles, cardboard blocks

• Lay the teaching picture near the blocks. 
• As preschoolers play with the vehicles, talk about where they like to go in a car.
• Point to the teaching picture and comment: “Jesus walked on the road with two people. He taught them about Himself.” 

3–Pre-K—Walk on a Block Pathway

Weekly Verse: Tell people about Jesus. Matthew 28:19

Materials: Teaching Picture 9, cardboard or wooden blocks

• Before the session make a pathway of wooden blocks. Place the teaching picture at the end of the pathway.
• Challenge preschoolers to walk on the pathway. Comment that two men were walking down a road when they saw Jesus.
• At the end of the path, point to the teaching picture and give a few more facts about the Bible story. Say the Weekly Verse together.

Kindergarten—Make a Class Banner

Bible Story: Jesus Returned to Heaven Acts 1:4-11
Life Point: Jesus is in heaven.
Weekly Verse: Jesus went up into heaven. Acts 1:9

Materials: large sheet of bulletin board paper, markers, dot painters, tape

• Tape the paper to a long table or the floor. Lay the other art items nearby. Print the Weekly Verse in large letters across the paper.
• Read the verse together. Invite boys and girls to decorate the banner. Suggest they draw pictures of what the disciples saw as Jesus went to heaven. Tell the Bible story as they decorate. 
• Remind the kids that Jesus lives in heaven with God.
