Materials: Teaching Picture 8, puzzles featuring Jesus
- Display the Teaching Picture near the puzzles.
- Tell the Bible story as the preschoolers work puzzles. Point to the Teaching Picture, naming Jesus.
- Remind boys and girls that the men told their friends that Jesus was alive.
3–Pre-K— Walk on a Block Pathway

and gave His Son. John 3:16
Materials: Teaching Picture 8, cardboard or wooden blocks
- Before the session make a pathway of wooden blocks. Place the Teaching Picture at the end of the pathway.
- Challenge preschoolers to walk on the pathway. Comment that two men were walking down a road when they saw Jesus.
- At the end of the path, point to the Teaching Picture and give a few more facts about the Bible story. Challenge older preschoolers to name someone they can tell that Jesus is alive.
Kindergarten— Build a Block Maze

Materials: Teaching Picture 8, wooden blocks, toy cars
- Before the session use several blocks to build a simple maze. Place the cars and Teaching Picture nearby.
- Show kids the maze and tell them they can drive cars through the maze. Challenge kids to make a more complicated maze through which they can drive the cars.
- Talk about the Bible story as kids work. Say: “Jesus met two disciples while walking down a road. The men were going to a town called Emmaus.”
- Help kindergartners think of people they could tell that Jesus is alive.
