Materials: toy broom, cloths, spray bottles
- Invite preschoolers to use the items to pretend to clean the room.
- Comment that they are being kind and loving others by helping.
- Say Jesus helped His friends when He washed their feet.
3–Pre-K— Walk on a Bible Verse Path
Bible Story: Jesus
Is Alive Matthew 28:1-10
Life Point: Jesus is alive.
Weekly Verse: Jesus is alive. Matthew 28:7
Materials: heavy weight paper, clear contact plastic or clear packing tape, scissors, marker
- Cut the paper into large stone shapes. Print the words of the Weekly Verse onto the paper, one word per paper. Make at least two sets. Using clear contact plastic or packing tape, securely attach the papers to the floor in a path.
- Invite a preschooler to step in the “stone” path. Say the words as he steps on each one. Encourage him to walk again and say the words of the verse with you.
- Comment that Jesus is alive.
Kindergarten— Make a Jesus’ Name Design
Bible Story: Jesus
Is Alive Matthew 28:1-10
Life Point: Jesus is alive.
Weekly Verse: Jesus is alive. Matthew 28:7
Materials: paper, marker, clear contact plastic, tissue paper
- Print JESUS in large letters, filling each piece of paper. Tape the papers to a table. Cut the tissue paper into small squares. Cut the clear contact plastic to the same size as the paper, and tape it over the paper with Jesus’ name, sticky side out.
- Invite kindergartners to make a design. Show them how to stick the tissue paper over the letters of Jesus’ name. Tell the Bible story as children make their designs. Comment: “Jesus is alive!”
- When a child is finished, help her stick another piece of the contact plastic over the one with the design. Print her name in the corner with a permanent maker.
